About Us

In September 2025 we purchased a domain name and created a website for an organization that later decided to design their own. We were left with a domain name and a beautiful “under construction” site that we decided to repurpose for our own fun, one we hope will engage others in our passion for WORDS. Perhaps here you will find the perfect FANTASTIC WORD for a special project or event...  a special WORD that turns a sentence from duhhh to amazing. You may find a few WORDS that are new and fun, and some that make you think, "Oh, wow!" or "Who knew there was a WORD for that?"

In setting up this website we realized that just FANTASTIC WORDS are not quite enough, so we are expanding it to address  other WORD-related interests:

     —WORDPLAY: clerihews, chiasmus, quotes, esoteric words, recursive acronyms, palindromes, metatheses, malaprops, and so on.

     —BOOKS: brief review of books and websites that are particularly relevant to  WORDS and the Company They Keep.

     —CLICHÉS: brief discussions of the history, when available, and special characteristic of especially horrible expressions. Though tried and true, clichés are well beyond their sell-by date. 

Membership is not required to enjoy the One Perfect WORD Club. Browse our website, submit your favorite/fantastic WORDS (with definition), discuss your favorite books about words—typography, grammar, writing, etc.—add some clichés you are greatly fond of, and generally join the fun. 

 

This is a website in that is continually changing so visit often. Some of the pages are still under construction, but we're glad you're here to be a part of our journey.
